A 47-year-old man from Upper Kent died in a motorcycle crash on a trail in western New Brunswick, RCMP say.

They said they received a call at 4:50 a.m. Thursday about an “overdue traveller” in Upper Kent, which is 20 kilometres upriver from Florenceville-Bristol.

“When police arrived in the area, they located the driver and sole occupant of a motorcycle in the ditch along with the motorcycle,” a news release from the RCMP said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they believe the crash happened when the motorcycle was travelling north along the N.B. Trail, which runs parallel to Route 105, and lost control and landed in the ditch.
