The provincial government is cutting New Brunswick’s veterinary field service, which many farmers and animal owners consider vital, and moving it to the private sector.
According to a provincial budget memo released Tuesday, the public veterinary service will end by March 31, 2027, equine services will end Dec. 31, 2026, and laboratory services will end on or before March 31, 2028.
