A suspended Fredericton lawyer facing multiple allegations of misconduct told a discipline hearing that his case needs to be heard on its merits.
Stephen James Hill appeared before a panel of the discipline committee on Tuesday, arguing his deemed admissions should be withdrawn.
Hill is facing 29 complaints of professional misconduct, including failure to complete required work, failure to follow client instructions, and misappropriation of client funds.
After failing to respond to an October notice of complaint from the Law Society of New Brunswick within 20 days, Hill was deemed to have admitted those charges.
