A man detained by the Codiac RCMP in Moncton in November 2022 because he was deemed intoxicated, suffered cardiac arrest in his cell and died a few days later in hospital, a coroner’s inquest heard Monday at the Saint John Law Courts. 

Dennis Johnson, 48, was found unresponsive in his cell at the Codiac RCMP detachment around 3 a.m. on Nov. 20, 2022. 

He had experienced cardiac arrest and was transported to hospital, where he died on Nov. 23.
