I’m so happy to announce that I’ve been awarded Portrait Photographer of the Year – Professional Photographers of Canada, for the 3rd consecutive year! I’m quite sure that since it’s inception in the 60’s, this
has not been accomplished before. In addition to that, my portrait “The Lieutenant Governor” of the honorable Brenda Murphy of New Brunswick, won a Judges Choice award and was a finalist for the Best Portrait Award. But that award was given to my other portrait, #MMIWG, a tribute to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. I’m especially proud to help bring more awareness to that important but often overlooked issue. It was also chosen for inclusion in the 2021 Loan Collection.
Big thanks to all the volunteers who make image competition happen each year. And congratulations to all the other award winners, finalists and participants.
