Reaction to Premier Susan Holt’s announcement on Wednesday that the province was going to review the 2014 fracking moratorium was swift.
Green Party Leader David Coon said he was disappointed in Holt for bringing the question of fracking back to the table amidst the climate crisis.
“The words ‘climate change’ didn’t even pass the premier’s lips, so I don’t know what world she’s living in, but it’s not the real world,” Coon said.
He said one only needs to look at the increased wildfires, floods and declining lobster catches in the Bay of Fundy.
“This has been caused by burning fossil fuels. So what is she thinking?”
