The Holt Liberal government has issued a long-awaited response to recommendations on systemic racism in New Brunswick that is light on details and concrete action.

Cabinet minister Jean-Claude D’Amours pointed to the creation of an anti-racism office and a website to track progress on 86 recommendations as a sign of movement.

He said tackling racism was “not a one-day thing. It’s not a one-month thing. This is for the long term.”

The announcement was a response to a 2022 report on systemic racism by then-commissioner Manju Varma.
