The Village of Fundy-St. Martins posted a statement from the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure on Friday announcing the immediate closure of the structure crossing the Irish River.

Mayor John Cairns said he didn’t learn of the decision until Friday morning.

“It made me feel a little bit upset that we didn’t know earlier,” Cairns said Saturday.
