A man who killed one man and shot another two years ago in northeaste New Brunswick has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 14 years.
Keith Maurice Martin, 49, was sentenced in Miramichi Court of King’s Bench on Tuesday.
“I’m sorry for everything that happened,” Martin said to Justice Stephen Doucet.
A jury in June found Martin guilty of the second-degree murder of Mark Mitchell in Esgenoôpetitj First Nation on Sept. 5, 2024.
He was also convicted of attempting to murder Sean Savoie with a restricted firearm. But, the trial heard, Martin actually shot Sylvio Savoie,
