The Ville ReCONNECT After School Leader provides a safe and inclusive environment for the children while following all protocols and regulations set out by the Early Learning and Childcare Department, all while being attentive and engaging and enthusiastic during activities and set programs.
The Ville Co-operative’s Afterschool Program is a program designed for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years. At The Ville After School we focus on hands-on learning opportunities to develop young empowered leaders in the community. Our students are given the opportunity to build confidence in an encouraging environment. We aim to build capabilities so that children gain confidence to use their new skills to inspire meaningful impact in their circles and share their knowledge with family and peers.
Leaders learn and implement all lesson plans ensuring the students are being properly supervised and handle all disputes or concerns. The leader attends to the needs of our students and ensures their safety and well being.
Required Qualifications:
Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Must pass criminal background check and Social Development Prior Contact Check, and have experience working with youth
Must be able to work hours as assigned
Must be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with youth, parents, community partners, and afterschool and summer program staff.
Must have Standard First Aid training
Job Duties:
Consult with The Ville After School Program Coordinator on all activities and processes
Assist in creating, planning, and facilitating engaging enrichment, educational and physical activities for children within The Ville After School program,
Ensure that all administrative and operational duties related to our provincial licensing are met on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facilities and equipment.
Promote a safe and positive classroom environment.
Comply with all health and safety regulations as per WorksafeNB legislation and implement H&S policies and procedures
Perform related duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week
Chance to earn more hours with PD days, snow days & school breaks
Salary: $14.75-$22.00 per hour
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
No weekends
