Fredericton Capital Region Tourism is organizing a long weekend of events to celebrate the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness a total solar eclipse. This rare and spectacular event can only be experienced along a narrow strip on the Earth’s surface and Fredericton will be in the direct path of the total solar eclipse. Whether you’re an astronomer or just curious about this grand spectacle of nature, EclipseFest Fredericton is a great time to visit Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Exhibits, special programming and presentations
Science East Science Centre will present their Planetarium eclipse-themed show all weekend with kids workshops, STEM exhibits, and Astronomy and safety viewing sessions.
Theatre presentations, story-telling, crafts and food all in a festive atmosphere in downtown Fredericton.
During the eclipse on Monday afternoon that begins at 3:23 pm, the moon will completely block the sun for 2-3 minutes. The partial eclipse visible for about 2 hours. The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada New Brunswick Centre (RASC) will host a public observing session with telescopes, exhibits, and safety information.
Solar eclipse glasses are free of charge to visitors at the event.
