Alleged fraudster Daniel Bard bought an Audi and a motorcycle in the span of 15 days in 2016, then traded in three motorcycles for two new ones less than two years later, a Moncton judge heard Thursday.
Bard is being retried on 19 charges, including fraud, money laundering and possession of property obtained by crime.
He was originally charged in 2022, and his first trial ended in a mistrial last June when his lawyer withdrew because of health reasons.
Business owners have accused Bard of taking thousands of dollars from them in exchange for access to multimillion-dollar loan deals but never delivered on those promises before vanishing.
