Former financial broker Daniel Bard’s multi-year legal battle might not be over yet.

Bard was sentenced in Moncton last month to five years in prison after being convicted of fraud, money laundering and other financial crimes.

But Bard gave notice this week that he intends to appeal both the conviction and sentence.

His notice of appeal comes after multiple trials and years of delays in court, largely due to changes in Bard’s legal representation.

In a handwritten letter from Springhill Institution, where Bard is currently being held, Bard pointed to his defence lawyer as the reason for his appeal.
