Appointments are exclusively booked online by the patient and require confirmation to ensure it is appropriate for a virtual setting. Patients go through a screening algorithm for added patient safety and to ensure their issue is appropriate for a virtual visit. There are also pre-visit questionnaires for a variety of common medical conditions, and the patient is also given the opportunity to submit their past medical history along with securely uploading an image of the issue (if applicable). All of the medical questionnaires gathered are then reviewed by the nurse practitioner. This clinic operates most weeks and operates on variable part-time hours. Access Point Health is for residents of Fredericton and Oromocto and the surrounding area to access virtual care by a bilingual Nurse Practitioner, for a fee, through a SECURE video consultation from the comfort of their home, using a laptop or desktop (Google Chrome - required). An APP is available for smartphones or tablets. Some private insurance plans may cover part of the fee for this service. Access Point Health is a small local business innovated by a Nurse Practitioner who is registered with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB).
