Casings in the room where a Dieppe couple were found dead in 2019 appeared to be fired by the same gun, a firearms expert testified Wednesday.
The testimony came as the fourth week of Janson Baker’s jury trial continued in Moncton court.
Baker, 29, faces two counts of first-degree murder alleging he killed Bernard and Rose-Marie Saulnier on Sept. 7, 2019.
Shannon Moore of the Vancouver Police Department’s forensic firearm and toolmark unit was qualified to give expert evidence in Baker’s trial Wednesday.
Moore testified about examining two ammo casings RCMP sent for analysis in 2021. Both, Moore testified, were 9mm calibre but from different manufacturers.
