- Parliament resumes for the first time since late June, with ongoing tension with the United States expected to dominate.
- Prime Minister Mark Carney, fresh off an investment summit in Toronto and speech to the European Union, said his Liberal Party this sitting will see “some of the most consequential legislation … in decades.”

The Official Opposition leader just walked in and took his seat.
Pierre Poilievre gave a nod to Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne then briefly spoke to his deputy leader Tim Uppal and then began reading notes.
Prime Minister Mark Carney joined the House shortly after Poilievre walked in. He quietly sat down and then began adjusting his ear piece and shared a quick conversation with House leader Steven MacKinonn.
