At the age of 39, Acadian artist Fabien Léger launches his very first mini-album, a collection of four deeply personal songs inspired by reflections and experiences of all kinds.

Entitled “Trop tard, dit le renard” (Too late said the fox), the album is available this Friday, June 20, 2025, on all digital platforms.

Inspired by folk masters such as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, James Taylor and Jackson Browne, the Cap-Pelé artist, now based in Moncton, writes striking images and puts them into an intimate, acoustic ambience. His lyrics, imbued with sincerity, tell of the complexities of human relationships and the discreet truths of everyday life.

The album was recorded at the Studio Birch Street Sessions, in Moncton. Mike Trask produced the album, and Fabien Léger wrote all the lyrics and music. A multi-instrumentalist, he plays acoustic guitar, electric guitar, harmonica, bass, and drums. Musician Marie-Andrée Gaudet joined him to add violin and cello to the song “Les briques et le mortier”. A second album, this time in English, will be released in the fall.

A first radio single
The song “Garçon” is the 1st single offered to radio stations. The lyrics are based on his father’s advice. “I wrote them in song form, but more philosophically and poetically,” explains Fabien Léger.

With a bachelor’s degree in arts and social sciences and a master’s in business from the Université de Moncton, Fabien Léger is a folk singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music captures the raw beauty of life, love, loss and grief. Writing songs since high school, he puts his lived experiences into his music, each track a reflection of his own journey, with its ups and downs. With a voice at once warm and weathered, and a melodic sense rooted in the folk tradition, he offers thoughtful, timeless songs.
