Kristen Stackhouse from New Brunswick is working with McDonald’s Canada to showcase their diverse perspective on sustainability and the environment to mark the company’s transition to paper straws, an important step in reducing single-use plastics at the restaurant.
Stackhouse, as well as 14 other Canadian and Indigenous artists, were commissioned to create original art on a McDonald’s tray made from upcycled plastic straws. The tray became a canvas through The Rogerie, a Kelowna company that specializes in making everyday products from post-consumer plastics.
Stackhouse’s original art will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities® and may be displayed or auctioned for fundraising purposes.
