Acadian artist Matt Boudreau will release his third career album next month. Available February 18, 2022, in digital format on all platforms worldwide, Ovni will be released by Le Grenier musique and will also be available on vinyl in the spring.

Matt Boudreau wrote, produced, recorded, and mixed the album in his personal studio in Bathurst, the Mouette Sounds Studio. He played the guitars, bass, keyboards, and lap steel. Drums are by Maxence Cormier and backing vocals are by Émilie Landry. The master is the work of Yves Desrosiers, the graphic design is by Sebas Thériault of Sterio Design, and the photos by Marie-Michelle Photographie.

Ovni is the first album from the Matt Boudreau’s multiverse. “It’s a sort of transformation of my 2nd album, Armageddon, with a few special tracks, including a brand-new song and a remake of a piece from my first album, Goéland”, he explains. Ovni includes 10 songs, and as mentioned, many of which are covers of his own songs. Matt Boudreau wanted to give a new life to songs that were originally recorded in a synth-pop style – a very alternative sound – to give them a new folk rock sound.

A first radio single: Ovni (C-132)
The title track of this new album is being launched on Friday January 28, 2022, on radio stations across the country. Ovni (C-132) is the song that most resembles its original version released on the Armageddon record. “This time it’s done to make you feel a bit more the coldness and loneliness of the lyrics. It’s a song about the isolation that a person can feel, as much in his head as in his everyday life,” relates the artist.
