The bachelor of education program will begin accepting students next fall to start their studies in spring 2028. (Submitted by Mount Allison University)
Students, alumni and community members packed into a Mount Allison University auditorium on Wednesday for a highly anticipated announcement — the school is relaunching its bachelor or education program.
“Launching a new bachelor of education degree is an important moment for the university,” Mount Allison president Ian Sutherland said to the crowd of more than 100.
While signs for the event celebrated “bringing it back,” most Mt. A students today weren’t yet born in 1997, the last time the school offered a bachelor of education degree.
“At the time, I believe, it wasn’t really matching the priorities of the university,” Ryan Gamm, a special adviser to the provost who helped design and plan the new degree.
