A development that would bring more than 260 apartments to Saint John’s north end won first and second reading Monday night from city councillors, who say the project would revitalize the area.
The plan calls for three buildings of five to six storeys that would be built adjacent to Lansdowne Plaza along Sears Street, between Lansdowne Avenue and Harrington Street.
Nova Scotia developer Rob LeBlanc, founder of Dartmouth architecture and design company Fathom Studio, is proposing the project.
Once complete, the apartment complex would be steps away from a Sobeys grocery store, Shoppers Drug Mart, Pet Value and other shops in the plaza as well as a number of transit routes.
