A man died on the scene of a late-night crash Wednesday between a motorcycle and a vehicle outside of Moncton.

An RCMP press release said officers responded at 11:49 p.m. Wednesday to a two-vehicle collision at the corner of Scotch Settlement Road and Route 115 in Irishtown.

Police said they believe the crash happened when the driver of a vehicle southbound on Route 115 turned onto Scotch Settlement Road and struck a motorcycle, which was travelling north on Route 115.

The motorcycle driver, a 44-year-old man from Saint-Antoine, died at the scene, the release said.

RCMP said the driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old woman from Cocagne, was arrested for impaired driving causing death and taken into police custody for a breathalyzer test.
