A doctor accused of sexually assaulting a patient at a southeastern New Brunswick hospital last year has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Dr. Sanjeev Sirpal, 39, is accused of sexually assaulting a patient at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Feb. 22, 2025.
The case was back in Moncton provincial court Thursday.
A lawyer acting on Sirpal’s behalf entered the not guilty plea. A trial on the charge was set for April 13-14 next year, lawyer T.J. Burke confirmed to Radio-Canada.
Sirpal remains free on conditions.
It’s the fourth trial scheduled in two provinces over allegations that Sirpal sexually assaulted patients in hospitals where he worked.
