Ivey Gi was one of several Bayside middle schoolers working Tuesday on a large mosaic of a Sixties Scoop and residential school survivor.

Ivey, who’s in Grade 7, hopes their Project Orange has a lasting impact. 

“I want [people] to know the history of Indigenous people … and I want them to know that Indigenous cultures are important and they’re a part of Canada,” Ivey said. 

“So in order to preserve that part of Canada, we need to honour and remember them.”
