The visitation for Robert K. Irving was held in Moncton on Monday, nearly a week after his death on May 19 at the age of 71.

Irving, who was co-CEO of J.D. Irving Ltd. and also founder of the Moncton Wildcats, died after a battle with cancer.

Hundreds lined up outside the First Baptist Moncton Church to pay their respects to Irving.

“You couldn’t help but like him,” said Randy Roth, who said he’s known Irving since the late 1970s when the entrepreneur first moved to Moncton.
