The clock is ticking for new homes to be found for about 30 horses stabled at a property near downtown Fredericton that is set to accommodate a new school.

About seven people who board their horses at the New Brunswick Exhibition Grounds have been told they need to relocate their animals by Dec. 31 to make way for the site being redeveloped, said Rae Tretiak, executive director of the Fredericton Exhibition Ltd., which operates as the N.B. Ex.

“It takes a bit of time to rehome large animals,” Tretiak said.
