New Brunswick will soon double its total of integrated youth services hubs by adding locations in Fredericton and Neqotkuk and Elsipogtog First Nations.
Kristen Barnes, the director of New Bruinswick Integrated Youth Services, says she expects these hubs will start offering services in “the next few months.”
Moncton, Saint John and Caraquet, which serves the Acadian Peninsula, already have hubs, which connect young people 12 to 25 years old with services.
“We’re spending a lot of time connecting with youth in our space … we’ll often have a lot of our community partners in at the same time too to connect with them there,” said Liam Murphy, a social worker and the clinical co-ordinator at the Moncton youth hub.
