A doctor will stand trial early next year on an allegation he sexually assaulted a patient at a hospital where he worked in northwestern New Brunswick.
It’s the latest trial to be scheduled for Dr. Sanjeev Sirpal. The 39-year-old is accused of sexual assaults in the New Brunswick communities of Edmundston and Sackville and the Nova Scotia community of Nappan, just outside Amherst.
Defence lawyer T.J. Burke appeared by phone on Sirpal’s behalf in Edmundston provincial court Tuesday.
Burke entered a not guilty plea on a charge alleging a sexual assault at the Edmundston Regional Hospital on Aug.
