A Moncton judge is set to give her decision in a financial crimes case at the end of May.

It will come four years after charges were laid against Daniel Bard and five months after his second trial began.

The timeline was prompted by a request from Bard’s lawyer for five weeks to prepare his closing statement.

Bard is facing 19 charges, including fraud, theft and money laundering. Six alleged victims accuse Bard of taking thousands from them in complicated loan deals, never delivering on promises and keeping their money.
