The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation have launched a campaign to raise $3 million towards building a hybrid operating room at the hospital.
Frances LeBlanc, the foundation’s CEO, said the hospital has been working on getting a hybrid operating room built for the past 10 years.
“Unfortunately because of several reasons, including change of government, the project did not move forward,” said LeBlanc.
“This has been a need for over a decade.”
A hybrid operating room is one that combines a normal surgical suite with diagnostic imaging ability.
