The Holt Liberals say they will bring back elections for regional health authority boards — but not until 2030.

The announcement comes after a December court ruling that the 2022 replacement of the Vitalité health authority board with an appointed trustee violated constitutional values that protect minority-language rights.

Health Minister John Dornan said Tuesday that there will be elected board members again, but there isn’t time to get legislation passed for those elections to happen alongside elections in May for municipal and district education councils.
