When Crown prosecutor Christopher Ryan asked Etienne Haché why he was present for Daniel Bard’s financial crimes trial Wednesday, the witness crossed his arms, took a deep breath and let it out.
It was Haché’s second time sitting in the witness box to testify about his experience with Bard. He told provincial court his family’s business paid Bard more than $100,000 for a project loan and never saw the money again.
“It’s a little frustrating, especially having went through it again,” Haché told reporters outside the courthouse. “It’s hard to say what will happen because it’s been a very frustrating trial.”
Bard is being tried on 19 financial crimes charges,
