Jurors in a Moncton double-murder trial heard testimony Tuesday about a pawned gold chain and pendant before being sent home for almost a week.
Janson Baker’s trial began at the start of the month on two counts of first-degree murder. It’s alleged the 29-year-old killed Bernard Saulnier, 78, and his wife Rose-Marie Sauliner, 74, at their home in Dieppe.
The Crown’s first witness Tuesday was Karine Essiembre, who testified she had made plans to pick up Rose-Marie Saulnier from her Amirault Street home the morning of Sept. 7, 2019, to go to an activity.
Essiembre said she tried calling around 7:30 a.m.
