3. March of the 104th Regiment of Foot & Geocaching Trail
Date: February 7 & 16, 2026
Time: 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Location: Museum grounds (571 Queen St.)
The Fredericton Region Museum will commemorate the storied winter march of the 104th (New Brunswick) Regiment of Foot in 1813, during which the regiment trekked more than 1,100 kilometres from Fredericton to Kingston to support British forces in Upper Canada.

Visitors will have the opportunity to:
- Experience a short interpretive presentation or walking talk highlighting the extreme conditions, hardships, and historical significance of the regiment’s journey.
- Receive a map and passport booklet and embark on a geocaching trail that traces key points along the regiment’s route (or corresponding local markers).
As participants locate each geocache and record their finds (date, location, and cache code) in their passport, they engage directly with history. The first 40 participants who log 15 or more caches will be eligible to receive a commemorative 104th Regiment geocoin (while supplies last).
