As New Brunswick’s Liberal government opens collaborative care clinics around the province, one community that already has a clinic is lamenting another round of service reductions.
Horizon Health announced on the website for the Queens North Community Health Centre in Minto there will no longer be walk-in clinic hours on Saturdays. The clinic will only be open during weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Horizon is working at reestablishing the service when staffing allows,” the notice said.
Grand Lake Mayor Kevin Nicklin said there’s been a growing reliance on the walk-in clinic in recent years.
“If anything, we’ve gone backwards rather than forward,” he said in an interview with CBC Radio’s Shift.
