The holiday season kicks off November 28–30 with Downtown Fredericton’s annual Downtown Spectacular, featuring festive programming, live entertainment, and the Mayor’s Tree Lighting ceremony!
On Friday evening, November 28, families can enjoy activities hosted by downtown businesses including Santa’s Workshop, Letters to Santa, Story Time with Mrs. Claus, a pop-up tree lot, and free ornament and cookie decorating at participating locations. The evening includes the Legislature Tree Lighting, followed by a Parade to City Hall and the Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring a performance by Fredericton’s own Tony LePage, holiday characters, and complimentary hot chocolate and cider.
The festivities continue all weekend with Black Friday and Shop Small Saturday promotions, as well as the Santa Claus Parade on November 29! Details below:
Gift Wrapping – bring your gifts to be wrapped to Savage’s Bicycle Centre this weekend, and support the Fredericton Youth Travel Group. Students will wrap your gifts in return for donations to their fundraiser!

Santa Claus Parade – Saturday, November 29, starting at 5pm
“An Old Fashioned Country Christmas” Get into the spirit of the season with a festive Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, November 29 beginning at 5pm on the southside of Fredericton.
Parade Route: The parade will line up on Pointe Sainte Anne Blvd., and will begin at 5:00pm at the intersection of Queen and Regent streets, moving south on Regent St. to King Street, West on King Street to Westmorland St., North on Westmorland St. to Queen St., West on Queen St. to Pointe Sainte Anne Boulevard.
