Visit Downtown Fredericton this holiday season and enjoy The Nutcracker Trail!
New this year, downtown businesses are working together to support a community cause, “Julia’s Fridge” at the Fredericton Public Library! (see details below map)
Businesses are decorating their storefronts with Nutcracker-themed displays to add to the winter wonderland created with holiday lighting and Christmas trees that have been placed throughout the downtown! There are 27 displays for you to find on the trail that’s perfect for families, friends and anyone taking a stroll through the downtown! Locations:
Once you’ve had some time to explore the “Nutcracker Trail” and enjoy the creative window displays, then stop in at the Fredericton Public Library to drop off a donation to Julia’s Fridge!
Julia’s Fridge provides food for anyone who needs it, every day that the library is open through the year. Each day, library staff fills the community fridge with nutritious snack items, fruit and beverages to help support patrons, especially those who are experiencing food insecurity. An estimated average of 500 people each month benefit from the community fridge. (more details below)
What to donate?
- Individually wrapped snack items (granola bars, Bear Paws, cheese & crackers, etc.)
- Fruit (fresh or packaged items like apple sauce, fruit cups, etc.)
- Yogurt
- Cheese
- Beverages (bottled water, juice boxes, etc.)
- Non-perishable items
- Monetary donations
Donations of food can be dropped off at the Fredericton Public Library where you’ll find a Nutcracker Trail display on the main floor, next to the circulation desk. Monetary donations can be made at the circulation desk. Be sure to take a selfie with the Nutcracker at the Library and post it on your socials, tagging Downtown Fredericton and the Library!
