The 2nd annual Melanie Jardine Memorial Photoshoot giveaway is here.

6 years ago, we sat in my mother’s livingroom, looking at my grandmother’s nursing graduation portrait. I didn’t know that young woman, only the woman she become in later life…and that woman didn’t have her portrait taken.

It was during that conversation that I realized we needed photographs of my mom. She didn’t like the idea, but she agreed. “I’ll do it for my obit pic” she joked. “Make sure you use the hot one”.

After that first shoot she transformed from an unwilling participant into my favourite model. Not only that, but her new found confidence in front of the camera meant she stopped avoiding it, she even took a selfie challenge I did a few years back, and there are so many great snap shots of her from the last few years.

In April of 2019, my mom was diagnosed with cancer and she died December 28th. She was 63.

My mom is literally the reason why I started photographing women. I want to honour her, Melanie Jardine, by giving the gift of portraiture to someone else’s mother. This Mother’s Day, and every Mother’s Day.

The session will be done May 14th at 10am in our Oromocto Studio. What’s included is professional hair and makeup styling for 1, access to our studio wardrobe, a photo shoot, and the portraits that I love, and want you to have. Participant must be willing to sign a model release.
