A new initiative to bring live music to downtown Shediac during seven summer lunches this Summer begins this week. The series “Lunch time tunes” lunch time is a new concept of the Downtown Shediac corporation aimed at giving a hand to artists, while offering performances to local merchants, their customers, passers-by, or any other interested person.
The Centre-Ville Shediac Downtown will offer seven artists and groups under a covered stage along Main Street, near the IGA Coop parking lot. The shows will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays and will feature Daniel Léger on July 14, Jacques Surette on July 21, Émilie Landry on July 28, Joey Robin Haché on August 4, Matt Boudreau on August 11, La Patente on August 18, and Martine Cabrel on August 25. The shows are free and open to all. It is possible to bring your own chairs
Anik Roy, president of Centre-ville Shediac Downtown, is very happy to see the return of animation in the downtown area. “It has always been one of my priorities to see musical entertainment in the center of town, where many of our merchants’ work. The return of tourists and locals really gives our merchants a boost. The presence of artists on Thursdays at noon is very much anticipated,” she explains.
