There’s a second potential candidate for the leadership of the New Brunswick Green Party, but party officials aren’t saying who it is.
Spokesperson Allison Roy confirmed Thursday that the party received two applications to run by last Saturday’s deadline.
She said the party must vet and approve the candidates before announcing who they are.
That will happen by Sept. 28 at the latest, she said.
Tantramar Green MLA Megan Mitton announced Sept. 9 that she would run to replace David Coon, who is stepping down as leader after 14 years.
Mitton and Coon are the party’s only two MLAs in the New Brunswick legislature.
