The year 2024 marks two major anniversaries: the 25th anniversary of Jeunesses Musicales of Moncton and the 75th anniversary of Jeunesses Musicales Canada. To mark the occasion, a grand anniversary show will be held at Moncton’s magnificent Capitol Theatre on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, to which all music lovers are invited. The concert will be a double opera program featuring Poulenc’s “La voix humaine” preceded by a menagerie of French melodies, including Ravel’s “Histoires naturelles”.

Martin Waltz, founding president of Jeunesses Musicales de Moncton and still president after 25 years, underlines the importance of this organization: “There aren’t that many professional classical music concerts in Moncton, but Jeunesses Musicales fills the gap. Over the past quarter-century, we’ve presented some 125 shows,” he points out.

In addition to the anniversary concert at the Capitol Theatre, four other concerts will take place over the course of the year, all four presented at Moncton’s Escaouette Theatre.
