Moncton’s mayor has welcomed an announcement by the municipal, provincial and federal governments that they will jointly spend $25 million to improve infrastructure in the city.
Mayor Shawn Crossman said the funding will be the catalyst for development along Elmwood Drive.
The spending includes a larger sewer line, adding stormwater drainage lines, and widening part of Elmwood Drive. The work is expected to support the construction of 1,300 housing units.
“This project will be the catalyst for additional housing development while supporting continued commercial development,” Crossman said at a news conference Tuesday morning.
