Two New Brunswick performers will be heading to a prestigious music school in London in the fall, marking the first time New Brunswick Youth Orchestra musicians have secured seats at the Royal College of Music.
Amy Robichaud, a bass trombonist, and Alexander Urbina, a bassoon principal with the orchestra, secured their spots after in-person auditions in Toronto earlier this month.
Robichaud said the in-person audition was much more nerve-racking than the video audition that preceded it.
“My mouth dried up completely before I even played the first note in my audition,” she recalled.
