The New Brunswick government is floating the idea of closing schools with fewer than 100 students as part of cost-cutting measures in the next provincial budget.
The idea came to light during pre-budget consultations as part of a document titled “Difficult Decisions,” and a total of 33 schools in the province fall into that category.
Three of those schools are in the Anglophone East district, where Supt. Randy MacLean said the idea raises a lot of concerns.
