Downtown Spectacular!

Celebrate the magic of the holidays in Downtown Fredericton Friday, December 1 from 5:30-9:30pm. Featuring the Legislature and Mayor’s Tree lightings and enchanting downtown activations to get you in the holiday spirit! Downtown Fredericton shops will be open until 9:30pm.

Downtown holiday activations include:

New Brunswick Provincial Legislature Tree Lighting
Location: Legislative Assembly building
Time: 6:00-7:00pm

Santa’s Workshop with Enrich Kids
Location: Fredericton Convention Centre
Time: 5:30-7:00pm
Join Enrich Kids for Santa’s Workshop craft station, glow in the dark buffet and Santa letter writing from 5:30-7:00pm at the Fredericton Convention Centre. Kids can make a tree craft to take home, write their letter to Santa and get decked out in glow in the dark accessories for the tree lighting events.

City of Fredericton Mayor’s Tree Lighting
Location: Phoenix Square in front of City Hall
Time: 7:45pm
Join Mayor Kate Rogers and Santa for the Mayor’s Tree Lighting, featuring Fredericton’s own Tony LePage. A parade will take place from the Legislature to City Hall for the tree lighting. Tony LePage will kick-off a spectacular evening downtown immediately following the tree lighting. Bring the whole family to get into the holiday season and enjoy free hot chocolate and hot apple cider, compliments of Ignite Fredericton, and take your photos with some beloved holiday characters.

Free Gingerbread Cookie Decorating
Location: Gallery 78
Time: 7:30-9:30pm
Visit Gallery 78 for a free gingerbread cookie decorating workshop. Featuring delicious gingerbread cookies from Chess Piece Café, this is sure to be fun for the whole family!

Free Holiday Ornament Painting
Location: Clay Café
Time: 7:30-9:30pm

Stop into Clay Café during your downtown stroll to paint a holiday ornament. Let your creative juices flow while creating an ornament to put on your 2024 Christmas tree!

Downtown Winter Graystone Beer Garden
Time: 7:30-9:30pm
Location: Barracks Square (close to Queen Street)
Stop in for a pint from Graystone while checking off your holiday gift list in Downtown Fredericton.
Enjoy your beer by a cozy fire while enjoying some holiday-favourite tunes.

Outdoor Music & Fire Pits with The Cap
