Performing at the Fredericton Playhouse on Tuesday, July 14 at 7:30 p.m., the YOA Orchestra of the Americas is a world-class symphony orchestra of gifted young musicians.
Led by Artistic Advisor Plácido Domingo, YOA is comprised of skilled performers ages 18 to 30, representing 25 countries in the Western Hemisphere. YOA’s mission is to bring together energetic, talented musicians to pursue excellence and celebrate cultural diversity as a catalyst for social change.
YOA has performed in settings ranging from the most prestigious concert halls of Europe, China and the Americas to outdoor venues not often associated with symphonic music. YOA has reached millions through live performances, television and radio broadcasts, CD recordings, print media and documentary films.
The orchestra’s season culminates in a residence and concert tour from July to August, held each year in a different region of the world. This year, the YOA has selected the province of New Brunswick, together with lead partner New Brunswick Youth Orchestra/Sistema NB, as hosts of YOA’s first Canadian residence. The residence will take place from July 5 to 17, and launch YOA’s Pan-American Tour across Eastern Canada.
Tickets for YOA Youth Orchestra of the Americas are available through the Fredericton Playhouse box office at 458-8344 or online at www.theplayhouse.ca.
