  1. Elephants never forget.
  2. Wild African elephants can live up to 70 years. Sadly elephants in captivity die at a much younger age than wild elephants.
  3. Elephant trunks can be up to 7 ft. long weighing more than 400 pounds!
  4. 30 million years ago elephants were aquatic animals and their trunks probably evolved from a snorkel function.
  5. Elephants are pregnant for 22 months before they give birth.
  6. The largest elephant tusk ever recorded was 214 pounds and was 138 inches long.
  7. Elephants can eat up to 250 kilograms a day.
  8. Elephants can poop up to 50 kilograms a day
  9. Elephant poop can be used to make paper!
  10. Elephants can produce enough poop to make 115 sheets of paper a day.
